From 20th Century Studios and writer/director Matt Ruskin comes Boston Strangler, a must-see new true-crime thriller about the trailblazing reporters who broke the story of the notorious Boston Strangler murders of the 1960s.

Starring Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean), Carrie Coon (Ghostbusters: Afterlife), Alessandro Nivola (Amsterdam), David Dastmalchian (Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania), and Chris Cooper (The Amazing Spider-Man 2), the movie premieres exclusively on Hulu on March 17.

Last week, we were fortunate enough to attend the global press conference for Boston Strangler and asked Knightley what about Loretta McLaughlin's tenacity she most admired and whether the role of the real-life reporter is one that's inspired her outside of the film.

"I think she's completely inspiring. And I think partly, my answer is in the question," the actress responded. "It was her tenacity that I found most inspiring. I've been speaking to quite a few women who've seen the film, and this word keeps coming up, which I find fascinating, which is it was 'cathartic' to watch it."

"I think probably I experienced that when I read it. All of the things that she came up against, whether it's the male-dominated workplace or desperately trying to have a home life and a job and trying to raise children at the same point as trying to get justice for these women."

"I think it's something that a lot of women today can relate to. And I think her tenacity [and] the fact that she became an award-winning journalist whose children clearly adored her, I found that very inspiring," Knightley concluded. "So, yeah, I think it was her tenacity that I loved."

You shouldn't need us to tell you what a phenomenal talent Knightley is and this is another great role for an actress that never fails to impress. And for you true-crime fans out there, ABC Audio recently released Truth and Lies: The Boston Strangler, a companion podcast to the film. Find it wherever you get your podcasts.

You can watch the trailer for Boston Strangler below along with a featurette exploring Knightley and Coon's roles as Loretta McLaughlin and Jean Cole.

Boston Stranger follows Loretta McLaughlin (Knightley), a reporter for the Record-American newspaper, who becomes the first journalist to connect the Boston Strangler murders.

As the mysterious killer claims more and more victims, Loretta attempts to continue her investigation alongside colleague and confidante Jean Cole (Coon), yet the duo finds themselves stymied by the rampant sexism of the era.

Nevertheless, McLaughlin and Cole bravely pursue the story at great personal risk, putting their own lives on the line in their quest to uncover the truth.

Boston Strangler premieres exclusively on Hulu on March 17.
