Heist films have been a staple of the action-thriller genre for years. Apart from the obvious Oceans 11 trilogy and the more recently released Ocean's 8, there are plenty of other films that whet the whistle of viewers looking for a thrill on the television screen.

Some examples of popular and thrilling action-filled heist films include Reservoir Dogs, Inception, Inside Man, Baby Driver, and Rififi, with plenty of others joining them in the subgenre. Next week sees the release of a new heist film filled with action and thrills entitled Bring Him Back Dead.

The film stars Louis Mandylor (Rambo: Last Blood, The Debt Collector), Gary Daniels (The Expendables, Tekken), Daniel Baldwin (Grimm, Cold Case), Kate Keen (Union Furnace, Rogue Warfare), and LeJon Woods (Baby Oopsie: Murder Dolls, Asteroid). As the film piqued our interest, we reached out to the latter to learn more about the heist-based action-thriller.

You can hear our conversation below along with the transcript. For a fully immersive experience, check out the Youtube video of our conversation at the bottom.

LeJon Woods: I have a film coming out on August 2nd called Bring Him Back Dead. It's a gang of violent thieves who were supposed to just go to a jewelry store. An in and out job. But the in-and-out job turned upside down when one of the thieves got gun happy. And there was supposed to be no shooting. There was no need for it. But one of them got gun-happy, and some people got hurt, and they go back to the meeting place.

They were there to get diamonds. It was a big diamond heist. And they go back to the meeting place, and everything unfolds. There are twists and turns. There is backstabbing. There are lies and deceit amongst these thieves. As it should be. There's no honor amongst thieves, you know? It's a film that has a lot of twists and turns as most heist and thriller films do. But this one, I think it's going to take people like "whoa, I didn't see that kind of shit coming." I'm really excited about it.

bhbddddddddd

And of course, having Gary Daniels. And if you're familiar with the martial arts world, Gary Daniels is an icon. And he's doing his thing, kicking and punching and throwing those legs all over the place. (Laughs) Gary is one of the thieves, and so was I and Louis Mandylor. He's the head of the gang. That's what made it so awesome when they were doing their fighting scenes.

First of all, Louis and Gary Daniels already knew each other from previous works. And like I said, Mandylor was a boxer to start. But I guess as time went on, he adapted to martial arts as well. And man, to see those guys go at it on set and to train for it and sit there and watch them do scenes, it's crazy. Also, I do my own stunts. I've done a few you'll actually see in this film. Not any major stunts, but like falling out of a car and things.

What do you guys think of LeJon's comments? Will you be checking out Bring Him Back Dead when it releases?

Regardless of your take, be sure to watch the full video interview with LeJon Woods below. Also, don't forget to leave a comment with your thoughts!
