It's always fun to be surprised by huge cameos in movies, especially when word of them isn't leaked online in advance. David Leitch is a filmmaker who has made a habit of including unexpected A-Listers in his projects, including Ryan Reynolds in Hobbs & Shaw and Brad Pitt in Deadpool 2.
With that in mind, you probably won't be surprised to learn that his latest movie, Bullet Train, also features some big surprises and we've compiled them for you below. Needless to say, spoilers for the movie follow!
Sandra Bullock is a big one as she lends her voice to Maria Beetle, Ladybug's handler. If you've paid close attention to the trailers and TV spots, you might have seen the actor by now, but we're guessing Channing Tatum definitely came as a shock. On the train, Pitt's character offers a man money to wear his hat and glasses in an effort to throw Aaron Taylor-Johnson's assassin off his scent. However, that prompts Tatum to ask whether this is some sort of "sex thing."
Later, Ryan Reynolds is revealed to be playing a mysterious character known as Carver, though he only appears on screen for a couple of seconds.
The funny thing about these cameos is that it feels like these actors are repaying past favours. As noted, Pitt lent his talents to Deadpool 2, while he also had a memorable turn alongside Tatum in The Lost City earlier this year. Reynolds and Tatum showing up in his latest movie perhaps makes them even!
Reviews for Bullet Train haven't been the most positive, though, and it currently sits at 56% on Rotten Tomatoes. Whether that will deter moviegoers from checking out David Leitch's star-studded action movie this weekend is hard to say, and moviegoers will ultimately decide whether this is a ride they want to take again.
Bullet Train is now playing in theaters.
