After their original plan to reunite on Ghosted fell apart, it looks like the actors behind Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff have found an exciting alternative as Deadline is now reporting that Chris Evans (Captain AmericaAvengers: Endgame) and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow; Avengers: Endgame) have both signed on to star in Project Artemis for Apple.

Jason Bateman (The Outsider; Ozark) is directing with a screenplay from Rose Gilroy, daughter of writer-director Dan Gilroy and actress René Russo. Plot details remain under lock and key in Cupertino, but the film is said to be set during the space race.

Apple reportedly bought the package in a $100 million-plus deal, so expect this to be one of their biggest releases of 2023 or 2024.

If this project moves forward, it would be the tenth time Evans and Johansson have co-starred together, after The Perfect ScoreThe Nanny DiariesThe AvengersCaptain America: The Winter SoldierAvengers: Age of UltronCaptain America: Civil WarAvengers: Infinity WarCaptain Marvel, and Avengers: Endgame.

Considering this is now the third project the longtime friends have attempted to reteam on, it seems like they're both extremely eager to work together again now that their Avenger days are behind them.

Johansson is currently filming Wes Anderson's next film, which is shooting in Spain. Evans, meanwhile, has wrapped Netflix's hotly-awaited The Gray Man, which reunited him with his Captain America directors the Russo Brothers and will see him square off against Ryan Gosling (La La LandFirst Man). He's now filming Ghosted - also for Apple - with Ana de Armas (No Time to DieKnives Out).

Nice! I still consider Winter Soldier the best MCU film! In part because of Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson.
