The biggest action stars in Hollywood are ready for another round of explosive action. And this time, they'll be joined by some fresh faces. Lionsgate shared a new poster for Expend4ables, which introduces the star-studded cast of the fourth film in the blockbuster action franchise.

The animated poster, appropriately set to the Red Hot Chili Peppers track “Can’t Stop,” has a unique way of unveiling the cast. Instead of some explosive action introduction, as one would expect with a movie of this magnitude, we get a somewhat odd power-washing sequence. The high-powered water pushes away the dirt and grime revealing an otherwise stylish poster for the movie. It's weird, but it's also kind of fitting when you take in the context of the tweet as well.

Featured on the poster is an ensemble shot of the movie's main stars standing above the appropriate tagline "Old Blood Meets New Blood." We see Sylvester Stallone along with returning co-stars Jason Statham, Randy Couture, and Dolph Lundgren. Alongside them are Expendables newcomers 50 Cent, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Jacob Scipio, and Levy Tran.

Expend4bles, also referred to as The Expendables 4, is the fourth movie in the ensemble action thriller franchise. Written by Sylvester Stallone, the franchise pays homage to former blockbuster action movies made in the '80s and '90s, while starring a mix of both older and newer action stars.

The Expendables movies have never really been critical darlings, but they've always performed solidly at the box office. The first film made $274 million worldwide, while the sequel topped that with $314 million. However, 2014's The Expendables 3 only brought in $214 million, putting the future of the franchise at risk.

It may have taken 10 years to get made, but The Expendables 4 is finally on its way. The synopsis reads:

A new generation of stars join the world’s top action stars for an adrenaline-fueled adventure in Expend4bles. Reuniting as the team of elite mercenaries, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, and Sylvester Stallone are joined for the first time by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox, Tony Jaa, Iko Uwais, Jacob Scipio, Levy Tran, and Andy Garcia. Armed with every weapon they can get their hands on and the skills to use them, The Expendables are the world’s last line of defense and the team that gets called when all other options are off the table. But new team members with new styles and tactics are going to give “new blood” a whole new meaning

Expend4bles arrives in theaters on September 22, 2023.
