Chris Hemsworth returns as Tyler Rake in Extraction 2, and the first trailer for the movie...well, it will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
While we get a glimpse at how Rake managed to survive the mauling he took in Extraction, much of this sneak peek is devoted to a breathtaking action scene that seems the mercenary battling countless foes in a prison yard setting. It's shot incredibly well and should be every bit the action masterpiece its predecessor was.
Make sure to stick around until the end too, especially as we get to see a downright bonkers scene atop a train that pits Rake against a helicopter!
"After barely surviving the events of the first movie, Rake is back as the Australian black ops mercenary," reads the sequel's synopsis, "tasked with another deadly mission: rescuing the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster from the prison where they are being held."
Hemsworth reunites with director Sam Hargrave, with Joe and Anthony Russo's AGBO producing and Joe Russo writing. Golshifteh Farahani reprises her role from the first film, while Daniel Bernhardt and Tinatin Dalakishvili also co-star.
Extraction 2 is a sequel to the first film that was based on the graphic novel Ciudad by Ande Parks, from a story by Ande Parks, Joe Russo & Anthony Russo, with illustrations by Fernando León González.
The movie is produced by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Mike Larocca, Chris Hemsworth, Patrick Newall and Sam Hargrave, with Angela Russo-Otstot, Jake Aust, Benjamin Grayson, Steven Scavelli, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely serving as executive producers.
Extraction 2 is set to be released on Netflix on June 16, later this year.
