After sporting a killer mustache in Mission: Impossible - Fallout, Henry Cavill (Man of Steel; Justice League)has new look for his upcoming spy adventure Argylle, a live-action adaptation of the 2022 novel of the same name written by first-time author Ellie Conway.
Matthew Vaughn (X-Men: First Class; Kingsman: The Secret Service) is in the director's chair, utilizing a screenplay from Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman; Pan).
While plot details are being kept under wraps, the story is said to follow a world-class spy (Cavill) suffering from amnesia, who is tricked into believing that he's a best-selling spy novelist. However, once his memories and lethal skills return, he's hellbent on getting revenge against his former employers, the shadowy organization known as the Division.
In addition to Cavill, the film will star Academy Award-winner Sam Rockwell (Iron Man 2; Jojo Rabbit), Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World: Dominion; Spider-Man 3), Academy Award-nominee Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad; Power Rangers), 2x Primetime Emmy-winner Catherine O'Hara (Schitt's Creek; A Series of Unfortunate Events), John Cena (Peacemaker; The Suicide Squad), Academy Award-nominee Samuel L. Jackson (Secret Invasion; Captain Marvel), 3x Grammy Award-winner Dua Lipa, Academy Award-nominee Ariana DeBose (West Side Story; Kraven the Hunter), and Primetime Emmy-nominee Rob Delaney (Deadpool 2; Catastrophe).
No premiere date has been yet, but the film is expected to debut on Apple TV+ later this year.
