As SDCC Thursday gets underway, Lionsgate has shared a first official look at their highly-anticipated action sequel John Wick: Chapter 4 (rumored to be titled John Wick: Chapter 4 - Hagakure), featuring leading man Keanu Reeves taking a moment to pray before embarking on his biggest and bloodiest revenge mission yet.
Plot details remain locked away in the deepest corners of The Continental, but it seems as though the long-awaited John Wick sequel will have some sort of presence at the annual convention.
Reeves will be making an appearance in Hall H tomorrow to hype up his coming BRZRKR movie, while director Chad Stahelski is also expected to be in attendance at a separate panel. Whether that's by design or just a lucky coincidence remains to be seen, but we wouldn't rule out a possible surprise trailer launch just yet. The studio did previously reveal footage at CinemaCon, so there's always a chance they'll screen the same footage for attendees.
Check out the first look image below:
Reeves will be joined by an all-new supporting cast consisting of Donnie Yen (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story; xXx: The Return of Xander Cage), newcomer Rina Sawayama as Akira, Shamier Anderson (Wynonna Earp; Goliath), Bill Skarsgård (It; Deadpool 2), Hiroyuki Sanada (The Last Samurai; The Wolverine), Scott Adkins (X-Men Origins: Wolverine; Doctor Strange), Marko Zaror (Alita: Battle Angel; Sultan), and Clancy Brown (Thor: Ragnarok; Daredevil).
Additionally, Laurence Fishburne (The Bowery King), Ian McShane (Winston), and Lance Reddick (Charon) will all reprise their roles for the next installment.
Chad Stahelski is back in the director's chair, this time utilizing a screenplay from Shay Hatten and Michael Finch. Stahelski co-directed the first installment with David Leitch, but was the sole director on both Chapter 2 and Chapter 3.
John Wick: Chapter 4 is scheduled to hit theaters on March 24, 2023.
