Lionsgate has just released the first official trailer for Flight Risk, an upcoming action-thriller directed by two-time Oscar-winner Mel Gibson (Braveheart, Apocalypto, Hacksaw Ridge). The film stars two-time Academy Award-nominee Mark Wahlberg (The Fighter, The Departed, Ted) in the lead role, portraying a pilot whose true identity remains uncertain.
The synopsis reads: "In this high-stakes suspense thriller, Mark Wahlberg plays a pilot transporting an Air Marshal (Michelle Dockery) and a fugitive (Topher Grace) to trial. As they traverse the Alaskan wilderness, tensions escalate and trust is put to the test, as not everyone on board is who they seem."
While the plot appears straightforward, it promises a wealth of thrills. Before Flight Risk, Wahlberg can be seen in the Netflix action-thriller The Union, starring alongside Halle Berry. This film's first trailer was released yesterday. Wahlberg is also currently filming Shane Black's crime thriller Play Dirty, set to be released next year, co-starring LaKeith Stanfield.
