Creed III hit theaters in 2023, and with a global box office haul of $276.1 million from a $75 million production budget, fans and studio execs alike are all wondering when Michael B. Jordan will return to the franchise.
While also starring, the film marked Michael B. Jordan's directorial debut. It was also the first film which didn't see franchise star Sylvester Stallone reprise his role as Rocky Balboa.
Speaking to GQ ahead of the release of his upcoming vampire thriller, Sinners, Jordan briefly touched on his desire to make another Creed film but also stressed that he won't be rushing anything.
"Yeah, the fourth one, eventually, not sure when, but we left that door open to build on that franchise. My thing is like, I don't wanna make a movie just to make it, give it a little time to breathe, make people want it, miss it a little bit. And when the time is right, I'll drop in and do another one."
Further along in the interview, Jordan was also asked about the status of his Creed III costar Jonathan Majors and if he'd be willing to work with the embattled actor again.
"It’s a tough situation […] But he’s doing great, just got engaged. I’m proud of his resilience and his strength through it all, and [his] handling [of] it. I’m glad he’s good. That’s my boy."
Jordan is currently confirmed to be returning to the director's chair for Creed IV and has previously expressed an interest in seeing Stallone's Rocky Balboa also returning.
Getting Stallone to return might be a tough sell as the veteran action star has previously shared that he's done with the spin-off as he didn't care for the creative direction taken for Creed III and that he will not be involved in future Creed films unless significant changes occur.
To date, the three installments in the Creed franchise have amassed $663.8 million worldwide from production budgets totaling $165 million.
