Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One, the latest entry in Tom Cruise's blockbuster action franchise has arrived, and it's already shaping up to be one of the biggest films of the summer!

The critically acclaimed picture grossed $7 million from Tuesday night previews, which is already outpacing Mission: Impossible - Fallout's $6M in 2018, and that figure is without the Walmart screenings on Sunday and the Early Access screenings on Monday night, so expect an uptick when the full report comes out next week.

Dead Reckoning Part One is now projected to collect somewhere in the $90M to $100M range within five days domestically, including an estimated $60M over the weekend. Internationally, the Christopher McQuarrie-directed blockbuster is eyeing a $160 million opening, meaning the Paramount production is gearing up for a massive $250 million global bow - a franchise-best.

In our review, we said, "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One is the undisputed blockbuster movie event of the summer! Tom Cruise delivers yet another action movie masterpiece, packed with jaw-dropping spectacle, pulse-pounding action, heartfelt emotion, awe-inspiring performances, and an exhilarating chemistry opposite new leading lady Hayley Atwell that’ll have you begging for more."

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film does carry an inflated $291 million production budget, but considering how the Mission: Impossible franchise historically tends to leg out through the summer months as well as Cruise's international box office appeal, there's plenty of reason to believe Dead Reckoning Part One will be another box office success for Ethan Hunt and company. Fallout is the series' highest-grosser, ending its run with $791.7 million, and Dead Reckoning is already on track to top it, so the next few weeks should be a lot of fun as we watch the race unfold.

In addition to Tom Cruise (Ethan Hunt), the cast features Hayley Atwell (Grace), Ving Rhames (Luther Stickell), Simon Pegg (Benji Dunn), Rebecca Ferguson (Ilsa Faust), Vanessa Kirby (Alanna Mitsopolis/White Widow), Esai Morales (Gabriel), Pom Klementieff (Paris), Mariela Garriga (Marie), Henry Czerny (Eugene Kittridge), Shea Whigham (Jasper Briggs), Greg Tarzan Davis (Degas), Charles Parnell, Frederick Schmidt (Zola Mitsopolis), Cary Elwes (Denlinger), Mark Gatiss, Indira Varma, and Rob Delaney.

Paramount has also released a new "Venice Chase" featurette, highlighting one of the film's most pivotal moments, check it out below:

Plus, Cruise and McQuarrie surprised fans yesterday by showing up unannounced at four screenings in four cities - not including the New York premiere - all within 24 hours. They visited Toronto, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, and Miami; expressing their gratitude to audiences and gifting them with the memory of a lifetime.

Check out footage from their day below:

In Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team embark on their most dangerous mission yet: To track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands. With control of the future and the fate of the world at stake, and dark forces from Ethan's past closing in, a deadly race around the globe begins. Confronted by a mysterious, all-powerful enemy, Ethan is forced to consider that nothing can matter more than his mission – not even the lives of those he cares about most.

Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One lights the fuse in theaters on July 12, with the follow-up, Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part Two, set to arrive next year on June 28, 2024.
