To help celebrate the Light The Fuse Podcast's upcoming 200th episode, which will feature an exclusive interview with star/producer Tom Cruise, director Christopher McQuarrie has confirmed last week's report that Holt McCallany (Mindhunter; Fight Club) has joined the cast of Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part Two and has also revealed two more additions in 3x Primetime Emmy-nominee Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation; Devs) and 2x Academy Award-nominee Janet McTeer (Jessica Jones; Sorry for Your Loss).
While we don't have the name of McTeer's character, McCallany will portray Secretary of Defense Bernstein while Offerman is playing a character with the surname Sydney.
Following the news, McCallany also confirmed that Academy Award-nominee Angela Bassett will return for Part Two, reprising her role from Mission: Impossible - Fallout, as CIA director Erika Sloane.
McQuarrie shared the following pair of photos, revealing McCallany and Offerman with Henry Czerny's returning Eugene Kittridge, while the second shot shows McTeer and Charles Parnell's unnamed character.
In addition to Cruise as the headliner, the highly anticipated McQ-directed action blockbuster will also see the return of Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust, Academy Award-nominee Vanessa Kirby as the White Widow, Frederick Schmidt as Zola, and Henry Czerny as Eugene Kittridge.
Newcomers to the franchise include the aforementioned Hayley Atwell (Avengers: Endgame; Captain America: The First Avenger) as Grace, Shea Whigham (Perry Mason; Marvel's Agent Carter), Pom Klementieff (Avengers: Endgame; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), Esai Morales (Titans; La Bamba), Rob Delaney (Deadpool 2; Hobbs & Shaw), Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride; Saw), Indira Varma (Game of Thrones; Carnival Row), Mark Gatiss (The Father; The Favourite), Charles Parnell (Top Gun: Maverick; Transformers: Age of Extinction), and Greg Tarzan Davis (Top Gun: Maverick; Grey's Anatomy).
