Madeleine Swann was introduced in Spectre as a love interest for Daniel Craig's James Bond. At the start of No Time to Die, Blofeld found a way to tear them apart, though 007 had no idea that she was pregnant when he put her on that train and said goodbye.
Bond would later meet his daughter, Mathilde, but events once again conspired to keep them apart and the secret agent died in a fiery explosion. That marked the first time he's been killed on screen, and the expectation now is that the franchise will start from scratch (potentially replacing the entire cast to avoid any sort of confusion by keeping Ralph Fiennes as M, for example).
When we last saw Madeleine, she and Mathilde were driving into the sunset together as the former recounted the story of a man named James Bond.
Asked by Deadline if she will return to the franchise, actress Léa Seydoux said, "After all, I’m not dead. It was James who died, not Madeleine. So, who knows? Maybe I’ll be back. This is like fake news, right? But if we’re serious for a moment, Madeleine drives away with her daughter right at the end because James has saved them."
"There’ll be a new Bond because Daniel’s Bond died but who’s to say that Madeleine won’t be back?"
Honestly, it would make zero sense for this to happen unless MGM goes down the weird route of making "James Bond" a codename that multiple people share. We'd rather a full-blown reboot because a fresh start feels like what's best for the franchise moving forward, and there have been rumblings that a younger actor will indeed take over as 007.
