Without Remorse was released on Prime Video in 2021 and starred Michael B. Jordan as Navy SEAL-turned-CIA operative John Clark. One of Tom Clancy's most popular characters, he appeared in the late author's Jack Ryan books and later headlined two of his own novels: Without Remorse and Rainbox Six.

The latter spawned a massively popular series of video games, and there have been rumblings of a big screen adaptation for several years now.

Well, the Black Panther star is set to reprise his Without Remorse role in that project, with The Hollywood Reporter revealing that John Wick franchise director Chad Stahelski has been tapped to direct. The filmmaker will also executive produce under his 87Eleven Entertainment alongside Jason Spitz and Alex Young.

After putting himself on the map with 2014's John Wick, Stahelski has gone on to direct every instalment of the hit action franchise and has a number of movies in development, including a Highlander reboot starring Henry Cavill. It sounds like Rainbow Six will be next for him, though.

Without Remorse served as an origin story for Clark, and was made and released during the pandemic. With theaters still closed, Paramount sold the movie to Prime Video, with it going on to be a huge hit. The current plan is for Rainbow Six to debut theatrically, but the trade notes that a final decision won't be made until later in the production process.

In other words, it sounds like the studio is waiting to see if it's worthy of the big screen!

However, with Stahelski directing, we have to believe it's going to be an action-packed thriller, and the franchise is known to many due to its video game ties. Amazon is likely to be keen to get its hands on this one, though, so we'll have to wait and see what happens.

Rainbow Six doesn't currently have a synopsis or release date.
