Last night, before UFC 285 got going, Academy Award-nominee Jake Gyllenhaal (Spider-Man: Far From Home; Nightcrawler) stepped into the octagon to film new scenes for his upcoming Road House remake, showing off his insane new physique and kicking some serious ass.
Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow; The Bourne Identity) directs the upcoming actioner for Amazon Studios, where Gyllenhaal plays Elwood Dalton, an ex-UFC fighter who ends up working at a roadhouse in the Florida Keys, where things are not exactly what they seem.
We'll issue a slight spoiler alert here, but based on the photos and videos below, we can probably safely assume these scenes - which also featured former UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor, UFC president Dana White, and play-by-play announcer Jon Anik - are from the beginning of the film, before something bad obviously happens that derails Dalton's UFC career and sends him to the eponymous roadhouse.
In addition to Gyllenhaal, the cast features Daniela Melchior, Billy Magnussen, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Lukas Gage, Hannah Love Lanier, Travis Van Winkle, B. K. Cannon, Arturo Castro, Dominique Columbus, Beau Knapp, Bob Menery, Conor McGregor, Joaquim de Almeida, Darren Barnet, Kevin Carroll, J. D. Pardo, Jay Hieron, Dana White, and Jon Anik.
No release date has been set, but filming has been ongoing since last August, so this was likely the final leg of the schedule. However, whether it makes it to the streamer or to theaters before the end of the year remains to be seen.
