Samaritan is a very different kind of superhero movie, but would you believe us if we told you it's not really a superhero movie at all?

Sylvester Stallone plays Joe, a guy just looking to keep himself to himself until his young neighbour, Sam, becomes convinced that he's secretly the hero known as Samaritan (who has long been thought dead). When a new threat emerges in Granite City, Joe has no other choice than to come out of retirement, but all is not as it seems.

Early on in the movie, we learn that Samaritan and Nemesis were twin brothers who later became enemies. Their parents died in a fire set by those angry about the damage their powers were causing, but both survived, and went down very different paths.

Joe is eventually forced to face his past and head back into action when Sam is kidnapped by the villainous Cyrus, a Granite City resident who decides to become the new Nemesis. During their battle, "Samaritan" drops a massive revelation when he reveals that he's not Samaritan at all...he's Nemesis.

It turns out that Samaritan managed to defeat his brother, though he did the heroic thing and refused to kill him. With that, the floor gave way and, despite his best efforts, Nemesis couldn't rescue his twin. While he has no plans to become a hero, it's clear Joe isn't all bad and he later slinks off into the night in order to once again fade into obscurity.

Deciding to protect Joe's secret by not revealing that he's Nemesis, Sam tells reporters that "Samaritan lives," restoring hope to his home in the process.

What did you guys think about Samaritan's big twist ending? Let us know your thoughts on that down in the comments section and stay tuned for more on the movie.
