At long last, legendary Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan (Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge; Don: The Chase Begins Again) has announced his long-rumored collaboration with South Indian director Atlee Kumar (Bigil; Mersal; Theri), which looks to be an insane action extravaganza titled JAWAN.
Speaking on the film, SRK expressed his excitement, “Jawan is a universal story that goes beyond languages, geographies and is for all to enjoy. Credit goes to Atlee for creating this unique film, which has also been a fantastic experience for me as I love action films! The teaser is the just tip of the iceberg and gives a glimpse into what’s to come.”
Production is already underway, and while plot details are understandably still under wraps, the cast is expected to feature Nayanthara (Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal; Annaatthe), Sanya Malhotra (Meenakshi Sundareshwar; Dangal), and Priyamani (Chennai Express; The Family Man), amongst others.
The film will open in theaters on June 2, 2023 and will release in five languages across India - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.

Jawan will be Khan's third theatrical release of 2023, joining the previously announced Pathaan (January 26) and Dunki (December 22), and could be his fourth film role of the year as he's also rumored to make an extended cameo in Salman Khan's Tiger 3 (April 21).
Before we see him back in full force with those three leading roles, he's also heavily expected to make appearances in the following 2022 releases: Rocketry: The Nambi Effect (July 1), Laal Singh Chaddha (August 11), Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva (September 9).
