After getting a cool new shot of Ryan Gosling (Blade Runner 2049The Nice Guys) as Courtland Gentry last week, Empire Magazine has now shared a fresh new shot of a mustachioed Chris Evans (Captain America: Civil War; Avengers: Endgame) as Gentry's main opposition, Lloyd Hansen, and co-star Jessica Henwick  (The Matrix ResurrectionsIron Fist) from the Russo Brothers' highly-anticipated action-thriller The Gray Man.

Speaking with the magazine for their latest cover feature, Evans, who is playing a character that has been described as "gleefully sadistic," says, “It does seem that I’ve aggressively gone 180 [degrees] from Steve Rogers, but it just kind of unfolded that way.,” while screenwriter Stephen McFeely adds, “He’s a trainwreck of a human being. That guy can be anything in any scene, because all he wants is anarchy.

Having played the straight-laced Captain America for the better part of the decade, it seems like Evans is relishing the opportunity to be able to play someone that's practically the polar opposite of his beloved Boy Scout. He teases,

I love the Russos, and I’ll pretty much do anything they ask me to do, and this is a character I’ve never been able to play. He’s so liberated, and free, and honest. What I like about him is that you should almost fear his smile more than his scowl. I think he understands that what he does is bad and harmful, but I think he considers himself necessary. He thinks he’s a disrupter.

In addition to Gosling and Evans, the supporting cast features Golden Globe-nominee Ana de Armas (Knives OutNo Time to Die), Jessica Henwick (The Matrix ResurrectionsIron Fist), Wagner Moura (NarcosSergio), Julia Butters (Once Upon a Time in HollywoodAmerican Housewife), South Indian superstar Dhanush (RaanjhanaaVada Chennai), Regé-Jean Page (BridgertonDungeons & Dragons), Academy Award-nominee Alfre Woodard (Luke CageCaptain America: Civil War), and Academy Award-winner Billy Bob Thornton (Monster's BallFargo).

The Gray Man hits theaters on July 15, and will start streaming exclusively on Netflix on July 22
