Paramount Pictures used last night’s Final Four broadcast on CBS to deliver some thrilling news for action‑movie fans: the latest theatrical trailer for Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning will premiere online this Monday. The preview first screened behind closed doors at CinemaCon a week ago, and anticipation has only grown since. Although Paramount hasn’t specified whether the trailer will drop during Monday night’s National Championship game or earlier in the day, the studio typically posts new footage in the morning or early afternoon, then follows up with a shorter TV spot during prime‑time sports coverage to drive audiences to the full‑length version online. Either way, IMF devotees should keep their notifications on.

Story details remain tightly guarded, but those in attendance at CinemaCon learned that The Final Reckoning opens roughly two months after the events of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning. Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is still a fugitive, racing to locate the sunken Russian submarine Sevastopol before its lethal cargo can be weaponized. Familiar allies and adversaries return—along with at least one major new player—setting the stage for what promises to be Hunt’s most personal and perilous mission yet.

Deadline’s description of the CinemaCon sizzle reel offers a taste of what Monday’s trailer will include. The montage reportedly begins with fireworks erupting behind a low‑flying aircraft and the line “This can’t all be true.” We see the bombing that nearly killed Hunt, followed by his dramatic surrender to military police, wrists bound in handcuffs. Angela Bassett’s character disembarks from a private jet, while Hannah Waddingham’s new intelligence chief is warned by Hunt that “spy people are close to panicking.” Rapid‑fire images flicker across a pupil—perhaps an iris‑scanner shot—before the trailer plunges into trademark Mission: Impossible mayhem: Hunt sprinting across rooftops, plummeting from a tower, and submerging into dark waters. A gravelly voice intones, “Your secret’s been compromised… everything has come to this,” as Hunt clings to the exterior of yet another aircraft. The teaser closes with Cruise’s signature calm‑under‑fire delivery: “I need you to trust me one last time.”

ScreenRant’s sources add further color. The teaser evidently opens with Hunt perched on the fuselage of a small prop plane, then flashes back to iconic set pieces from earlier installments—the CIA vault crawl, the Kremlin blast, and the gas‑filled intelligence briefing that opened Dead Reckoning. Arrested by the military, Hunt is leveraged to confront Gabriel (Esai Morales), the rogue mastermind introduced in the previous film. “Your team has betrayed you. All of your secrets—compromised,” Gabriel taunts. Longtime IMF overseer Eugene Kittridge (Henry Czerny) piles on: “Everything you are, everything you’ve done, has led to this.” In response, Hunt and his crew receive an entire aircraft carrier as their staging ground, setting up a gauntlet of death‑defying stunts: clinging to a plane in flight, free‑falling into the ocean, and navigating treacherous underwater caverns.

Given the franchise’s track record—and Cruise’s penchant for escalating real‑world stunt work—The Final Reckoning is primed to be one of the summer’s marquee attractions. Monday’s trailer should confirm whether Ethan Hunt can out‑run, out‑fly, and out‑think destiny “one last time.”

In addition to Cruise, the supporting cast features Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger; Agent Carter; Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning), Ving Rhames (Mission: Impossible; Pulp Fiction; Dawn of the Dead), Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead; Star Trek; Mission: Impossible), Vanessa Kirby (The Crown; Pieces of a Woman; Mission: Impossible – Fallout), Esai Morales (Ozark; La Bamba; Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning), Pom Klementieff (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2; Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning; Westworld), Mariela Garriga (Bloodline; Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning; Y: The Last Man), Henry Czerny (Mission: Impossible; Ready or Not; Revenge), Holt McCallany (Mindhunter; Fight Club; Wrath of Man), Janet McTeer (Ozark; Albert Nobbs; Jessica Jones), Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation; The Last of Us; Devs), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso; Game of Thrones; Hocus Pocus 2), Angela Bassett (Black Panther; What's Love Got to Do with It; 9-1-1), Shea Whigham (Boardwalk Empire; Joker; Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning), Greg Tarzan Davis (Top Gun: Maverick; Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning; Grey’s Anatomy), Charles Parnell (Top Gun: Maverick; Transformers: Age of Extinction; The Last Ship), and Frederick Schmidt (Angel Has Fallen; Mission: Impossible – Fallout; Supergirl).
