It's been a funny couple of days on Twitter. As you may be aware, there's a lot of discussion surrounding Olivia Wilde's new movie, Don't Worry Darling, because of an apparent feud between the director and her lead star Florence Pugh (Hawkeye). The two women didn't even make eye contact during the premiere in Venice, and social media is having a field day.
Adding further fuel to the fire is the fact that Don't Worry Darling has received mostly negative reviews...with only Pugh's performance unanimously praised in the upcoming psychological thriller.
Now, star Harry Styles (Eternals) is also coming under scrutiny for seemingly spitting at Chris Pine. In the viral videos below, you'll notice that the singer returns to his seat and appears to spit in the lap of the shocked actor. The whole thing is more than a little ridiculous, though representatives for Styles have since responded.
"This is not true," one source said to be close to the actor claims. Another, this time on Pine's side, says that "there is nothing but respect between these two men."
We're pretty sure that Styles didn't spit at his co-star, with a far more convincing theory put forward in another of the Tweets below. However, he has become the subject of ridicule thanks to another awkward exchange with Pine. That came during an interview which saw the aspiring actor (and boyfriend of Wilde) opine that his favourite thing about this movie is that...it feels like a movie.
Okay then.
Don't Worry Darling is set to be released in theaters on September 23.
