Ahead of its streaming debut this Friday, Apple TV+ has unveiled the final trailer for Wolfs, an action-comedy directed by Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts. The film stars Academy Award-winners George Clooney and Brad Pitt in lead roles, portraying two professional fixers who unexpectedly find themselves working together on what begins as a routine evening but quickly escalates into a chaotic and unforgettable night.
According to the film's official synopsis, "Clooney plays a professional fixer hired to cover up a high-profile crime. But when a second fixer (Pitt) shows up, the two ‘lone wolves’ are forced to team up. As their night spirals out of control in unexpected ways, they realize they may have bitten off more than they can handle."
The film debuted at the 81st Venice International Film Festival earlier this month and had a limited theatrical release last weekend. Initial reactions have been generally positive, with the film currently holding a 73% approval rating on RottenTomatoes. However, the audience score on the Popcornmeter is a bit more mixed, standing at 63%. Despite these varying opinions, the chemistry between Clooney and Pitt, both seasoned veterans of the action-comedy genre, is a significant highlight of the film.
Joining Clooney (Ocean's Eleven; Up in the Air) and Pitt (Fight Club; Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) is a talented supporting cast. The ensemble includes Amy Ryan (Gone Baby Gone; The Office), Austin Abrams (Euphoria; Paper Towns), Poorna Jagannathan (Never Have I Ever; The Night Of), Richard Kind (A Serious Man; Inside Out), Zlatko Burić (Triangle of Sadness; Pusher), and Academy Award-winner Frances McDormand (Fargo; Nomadland). The film’s strong cast adds depth to the character dynamics, promising plenty of humor and intensity in this fast-paced adventure.
Jon Watts, who both wrote and directed Wolfs, has expressed his enthusiasm for the project, hinting at the possibility of a sequel. Speaking about his collaboration with Apple, Watts recently shared, "Apple's been talking to me about a sequel since I turned in my cut in December [2023]. That's always been an ongoing discussion. I absolutely did not write the movie with a sequel in mind. But it was very fun to make, so I don't know, I think you let the audience decide if they want to see more."
While Wolfs wasn’t initially intended to set up a sequel, the excitement surrounding its premiere and the potential for further development may keep Clooney and Pitt returning for more wild adventures. Fans can look forward to the film’s Apple TV+ debut this Friday.
