The first two episodes of Paramount+'s new spy thriller series Rabbit Hole are now streaming and ahead of the premiere, we were able to sit down with stars Charles Dance (Game of ThronesUnderworld: Blood Wars) and Meta Golding (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2; The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) to talk about their interesting dynamic.

The pair join forces with leading man Kiefer Sutherland (24; Designated Survivor), who plays John Weir, a corporate spy that is framed for murder by a world-controlling power, to uncover the truth before it's too late for them all

Dance is Dr. Ben Wilson, while Golding is Hailey Winton. Both have their secrets and while they'll have little-to-no trouble working with Weir, they're going to have a much harder time trusting each other, so we asked them about what to expect from their uneasy alliance and more.

ROHAN: Considering all of the twists and turns of the this series, when you were reading the scripts, did you find yourself falling down the proverbial rabbit hole?

META: Yeah, I wouldn't say lost, but I would say that I’d start reading a script and assume it's gonna go one way, and then get completely shocked that it goes another way. So, it kind of kept me on the edge of my seat when I was reading it initially, and what made me interested in wanting to do it, because I never knew what was gonna happen next, like I didn't know. And it was interesting to find out who this character was because I play such a multi-layered character.

CHARLES: Yeah, I felt the same way. I mean, most of us did, because of the way the thing is written, it doesn't give you all the answers. It only gives you little bits of answers to quite important questions. And that's the way the scripts are written. So, it makes you or it made me want to know more, and the only way I could know more would be to be part of it.

ROHAN: Both of you and Kiefer form a team by time we reach the midway point of the season, can you tell me more about developing that chemistry with each other?

CHARLES: I think we all know what we're doing. We're relatively experienced. I've got quite a lot of experience purely because of the length of time I've been doing this job. But, you know, Kiefer has been working in this field for some considerable time himself. And he's done some phenomenal work. He's a highly accomplished actor, and a joy to be with. We all felt, and I keep having to speak only personally, I can't speak for everybody, but I felt that we developed into an ensemble very quickly.

It was a very good chemistry between us. There wasn't that much rehearsal, which I'm quite happy about. When I'm working on film, whether it's on television or in the cinema, the less rehearsal for me, the better because there is a value to be had out of spontaneity, and you lose that spontaneity, if it's over rehearsed, but that's me personally.

ROHAN: I don't want to get too deep into spoilers, but your characters have a tense relationship with one another. What can you tease about what's to come the rest of the season?

META: Well, I mean, you’re going to have to stay tuned to find out, but she's just a very complicated character, and her intentions are unknown. I mean, they're known *laughs*, I know them, but you guys don't know them. I mean it's complicated, basically.

CHARLES: All of the characters in this show are complicated. There's nothing simple about any of them to me, which is part of the joy of doing it.

In RABBIT HOLE, nothing is what it seems when John Weir, a master of deception in the world of corporate espionage, is framed for murder by powerful forces with the ability to influence and control populations.
