James Reece is back in action. All eight episodes of The Terminal List Season 2 are now streaming on Prime Video, bringing Chris Pratt's Navy SEAL Commander back for a much bigger mission after a long wait.
The new season premiered today (October 21st) exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. Amazon confirmed the launch in an updated post on its official news site, noting that Reece returns "nearly five years after the show's record-breaking debut."
From Revenge Thriller To Global Espionage
The first season of The Terminal List was a tightly focused revenge story, following Reece as he hunted down the people responsible for the ambush that wiped out his platoon and the deaths of his family. Season 2 widens the scope considerably.
This season adapts Jack Carr's second James Reece novel, True Believer. According to Prime Video, Reece is now on "a journey of violent redemption, finding a new purpose after finishing his list." The official synopsis explains that when the CIA corners him, Reece has to clear his name by stopping a resurgent Al-Qaeda that has turned one of his former allies to its cause. Along the way, he uncovers a conspiracy that reaches from Moscow to Langley and ties into his own family's history.
That story takes him well beyond the United States. Prime Video says the season moves Reece across the Indian Ocean, Southern and Northern Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, turning the series into what the studio calls a globe-trotting espionage thriller.
Built On Real Special Operations Experience
Authenticity was one of the biggest selling points of the first season, and the team has doubled down on it here. Executive producer and former Navy SEAL Jared Shaw and executive producer and former Army Ranger Max Adams oversee the action and authenticity work. They are joined by military veterans working as writers, actors, technical advisors, and directors, including former Navy SEAL Ray Mendoza, who co-directed the war film Warfare.
Pratt, who also executive produces the series, has been vocal about how much the season means to him. "This season is a love letter to the special operations community," he said in Prime Video's announcement. "I'm incredibly proud of the journey we went on and what we were able to put on screen. It was a monumental effort by a lot of people over the course of many years, and I think you can feel that commitment in every frame. Yes, it's an action thriller, but there's also real beauty and poetry in it."
He added that the season is "dedicated to the men and women who do this work - the people who operate in the shadows, make extraordinary sacrifices, and rarely ask for recognition. We wanted to honor them and get it right."
Who Is Back For Season 2?
Several familiar faces return alongside Pratt. Tom Hopper is back as Raife Hastings, Constance Wu returns as journalist Katie Buranek, Dar Salim plays Mohammed Farooq, and Luke Hemsworth returns as Jules Landry. Gabriel Luna joins the cast as newcomer Freddy Strain.
The season also features an expanded international cast, including Costa Ronin, Olga Kurylenko, Yul Vazquez, Arnold Vosloo, Martin Sensmeier, Shiraz Tzarfati, and Jeremy Bobb.
Behind the camera, the series is once again run by writer and showrunner David DiGilio, with Antoine Fuqua and Kat Samick of Fuqua Films, author Jack Carr, Shaw, and Adams all serving as executive producers alongside Pratt. The Terminal List is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, MRC, and Civic Center Media.
A Franchise That Kept Growing
Even with the long gap between seasons, the franchise did not go quiet. Prime Video released the prequel spinoff The Terminal List: Dark Wolf in 2025, with Taylor Kitsch leading the series as Ben Edwards and Pratt appearing in a supporting role. According to Prime Video, The Terminal List franchise has now reached more than 100 million viewers worldwide.
Season 2 also arrives during a crowded stretch for Prime Video's action lineup, following recent seasons of Reacher and its spinoff Neagley. Fans who need a refresher can catch up on Season 1 and Dark Wolf on Prime Video before diving into the new episodes. Prime Video's earlier teaser for the season is below as well.
