THE OFFICE Star Craig Robinson Talks Possible Reunion And BROOKLYN NINE-NINE Return (Exclusive)

The Office remains a global phenomenon, and star Craig Robinson has shared his thoughts on a possible revival while looking back at the show's legacy. He also addresses a possible Brooklyn Nine-Nine reunion!

It's been nearly a decade since The Office ended, but the show remains as popular and beloved as ever. LEGO has recently released a set bringing Dunder Mifflin to life in brick form, while the TV series has quickly become one of Funko's biggest sellers.

Merchandise aside, though, and The Office continues to draw big viewership numbers on streaming services like Peacock and Netflix. The series has truly taken on a life of its own, with a massive fanbase and a cast who remain as passionate about the show as the fans watching it.

It goes without saying that the characters we spent time with in the show are a big part of that, and among the most popular is Craig Robinson's irreplaceable Darryl Philbin.

Talking to us recently about his role in Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon, Robinson shares his thoughts (starting around the 8:35 mark in the video below) on The Office's legacy and the chances of starring in a reunion...or reboot!

He also reveals an interest in playing Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Pontiac Bandit, Doug Judy, again and expresses his gratitude for the way fans have embraced the characters he plays on screen.

Check out what he had to tell us below:

On another note, I’m a big fan of The Office, I have the new LEGO set on back order, which has a Darryl minifigure in it, but what has it been like for you nearly a decade on to see how the show continues to resonate and be as relevant now as it ever was?

[Laughs] It’s very special. It’s like you have friends everywhere. I’ve said that before, but it’s amazing. It’s like lightning in a bottle and unbelievable. The show is on in the background in some places; it’s comfort. They have a friend and it’s gotten them through things with its messages or they’ve been sick and it’s the only thing that brings a family together or made their mother laugh before she died. It’s all kinds of stuff and it’s beautiful. I’m honoured to be part of it and I love every second of it.

Officer Harold is the latest in a long list of great characters you’ve played since The Office ended, but would you be open to revisiting Daryl and reuniting with that cast or would you welcome a reboot perhaps?

I will welcome going back, of course. I would welcome a movie or one episode. Who knows, I don’t know how a reunion would be done. I mean, they’re family. A reboot would be also to see as well. I’m sure I’d get a cameo!

Talking of characters that left a lasting impact, everyone loves Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Doug Judy; if that cast ever comes back together, what do you think about bringing the Pontiac Bandit back for one more ride?

[Laughs] Absolutely. The Pontiac Bandit is one of my favourite characters.

Does it surprise you how the characters you’ve played stick with people?

It is surprising. It’s humbling. Someone might say, ‘Doug Judy is my favourite character’ and I’ll be like, ‘How? I’ve been in eight or nine episodes!’ It’s crazy to hear that. It’s surprising, humbling, and wonderful. People might think I’ve been in Hollywood or whatever, but there’s still a little twinge when people say that, so I thank you and to those people who feel that way, thank you too.

Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon is now in theaters, on Digital and on Demand.
