Amazon MGM Studios sent over the press release for The Terminal List Season 2, and all eight episodes hit Prime Video on Wednesday, October 21st!
Season 2 is based on True Believer, Jack Carr's second James Reece novel, and it picks up with Chris Pratt's Navy SEAL Commander after he's finished his list. Amazon's press materials call it a journey of "VIOLENT REDEMPTION" for Reece. The psychological revenge thriller of Season 1 opens up into a globe-trotting espionage story, with Reece crossing the Indian Ocean, Mozambique, Northern Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
To clear his name, Reece must work with the CIA to stop a resurgent terrorist organization, one that has pulled his friend and former operator Mo Farooq (Dar Salim) over to its cause. According to Amazon, the conspiracy he uncovers reaches from Moscow to Langley and ties into his own family's history.
Tom Hopper is back as Raife Hastings, and Constance Wu returns as Katie Buranek. The big newcomer is Gabriel Luna as Freddy Strain, a former SEAL Team 6 Senior Chief now working as a CIA Ground Branch officer, as Deadline reported when he was cast. Luke Hemsworth also reprises CIA man Jules Landry from last year's prequel, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, and Amazon's cast list adds Costa Ronin, Olga Kurylenko, Arnold Vosloo and Yul Vazquez.
Prime Video dropped the full trailer on September 17th, following the first teaser we covered in August. Check it out below!
Executive producers Jared Shaw, a former Navy SEAL, and Max Adams, a former Army Ranger, run the action and authenticity side of the show. Veterans also came aboard as writers, actors, on-set technical advisors and directors, including former Navy SEAL Ray Mendoza, who co-directed Warfare with Alex Garland. Amazon MGM Studios shared these numbers on the veterans involved:
- 17 military veterans worked on the production, in front of and behind the camera
- Veterans wrote five of the eight episodes
- Veterans co-directed or second-unit directed four of the eight episodes
More than half of the scripts came from people who've served, on a show about a SEAL, adapted from books by Carr, a former SEAL himself.
Amazon also released a making-of featurette with Pratt, Carr and the producers. Take a look below!
It's been a LONG wait for this one!
Season 1 premiered in July 2022, and Amazon renewed the show in February 2023 along with the prequel that became Dark Wolf. Amazon now says the franchise has drawn more than 100 million viewers worldwide.
Pratt executive produces alongside Antoine Fuqua and showrunner David DiGilio, and in Amazon's rundown he calls this season "a love letter to the Special Operations community."
As a HUGE fan of the books, not to mention the first season, October 21st can't get here soon enough!
Can't wait until October? Check out where Carr's books stand, including the next Reece novel.
