KRAVEN THE HUNTER Star Aaron Taylor-Johnson Is Rumored Frontrunner For JAMES BOND After "Secret Audition"

We're taking this one with a huge pinch of salt, but rumour has it that Bullet Train and Kraven the Hunter star Aaron Taylor-Johnson has emerged as a frontrunner to follow Daniel Craig as James Bond...

There's a lot of excitement surrounding who will ultimately be chosen to play the next James Bond, with many fans concerned that their top picks - Henry Cavill, Idris Elba, and Jamie Dornan, for example - will be aged out by the time the next movie finally begins shooting.

Producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson recently said they're looking to find an actor who will commit to the role for the long haul, with the latter later following up by making it clear that they're not planning to cast a much younger actor as Daniel Craig's replacement.

Someone we hadn't considered, who would be the perfect age at 32, is Kick-Ass, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Bullet Train star Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

According to The Sun (meaning you probably shouldn't take this too seriously), the British actor has emerged as the frontrunner for the role after taking part in what they describe as a "top-secret screen test." So-called sources tell the tabloid that Taylor-Johnson impressed Broccoli with an audition at Pinewood Studios.

One insider is reported to have said, "Aaron went for a screen test to be the next Bond in September and producers and Barbara loved him. He is now one of the front-runners."

Believe it or not, the site has been right in the past - very rarely, admittedly - so we won't entirely discount the possibility that the Kraven the Hunter star could be our next 007. Taylor-Johnson would be an exciting, unexpected choice, and a massive role like this is arguably a logical next step for an actor who has impressed time and time again.

An official announcement isn't expected to be made until well into 2023, if not later, so we'll see what happens. Even if Taylor-Johnson did audition, we're sure he wasn't the only one, and there's nothing to say he'll ultimately want to play Bond.

Stay tuned for updates.
