Nobody 2 Trailer: Bob Odenkirk Faces Chaos on Vacation in Action-Packed Sequel

Bob Odenkirk is about to take a vacation from his vacation in Nobody 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2021 action-thriller. Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for the movie, showcasing a blend of intense action, dark humor, and a family man caught in extraordinary circumstances. Directed by Timo Tjahjanto, Nobody 2 will hit theaters on August 15, 2025.

A New Adventure for Hutch Mansell

In the follow-up to the surprise hit Nobody, Odenkirk reprises his role as Hutch Mansell, a mild-mannered family man with a violent past as a highly skilled assassin. This time, Hutch’s well-earned vacation with his wife Becca (Connie Nielsen) and kids takes an unexpected turn when he becomes the target of both a corrupt sheriff (Colin Hanks) and a vicious crime boss (Sharon Stone). The trailer shows Hutch struggling to balance family life with his violent job. “I’ve come to terms with the fact that you don’t have an average job,” Becca tells him in one emotional scene. “But we haven’t seen you in months, and summer break’s just a few days away.” But Hutch’s attempt at a peaceful getaway doesn’t go as planned. Sharon Stone’s character enters the picture with a fiery determination, ordering her team to “find this nobody” and leave nothing standing in their path.

More Trouble, More Action

As expected, the action ramps up quickly. Odenkirk’s character, far from relaxing, is soon immersed in brutal confrontations. In the trailer’s final moments, Hutch delivers a classic action movie line: “I told you, I’m on [frick]ing vacation,” just before beating down an enemy. With a plot that seems both comedic and deadly, Nobody 2 promises to deliver on the explosive action that audiences loved in the first film. The trailer’s choice of Lindsey Buckingham’s 1983 song “Holiday Road” adds a nostalgic touch, familiar to fans of National Lampoon’s Vacation. The contrast between the song’s lighthearted tone and the violence unfolding on screen heightens the sense of chaos Hutch faces in his attempt at a peaceful retreat.

A Star-Studded Cast and New Faces

Joining Odenkirk in the sequel are several returning cast members: Connie Nielsen as Becca Mansell, RZA, Michael Ironside, Colin Salmon, Billy MacLellan, Gage Munroe, Paisley Cadorath, and Christopher Lloyd. Newcomers Sharon Stone, Colin Hanks, and John Ortiz bring fresh energy to the franchise, with Stone playing a ruthless crime boss on a mission to find Hutch.

Behind the Scenes

Tjahjanto, known for his work on The Night Comes for Us, directs from a script by Derek Kolstad, who wrote the original film, alongside Aaron Rabin. The film is produced by Odenkirk, Kelly McCormick, David Leitch, Marc Provissiero, and Braden Aftergood. In addition to the exciting action sequences, Nobody 2 promises the same sharp wit and suspenseful storytelling that made the first film a sleeper hit, dominating the domestic box office after a delayed release during the pandemic.

The Final Countdown

With the trailer showcasing brutal violence, dry humor, and high-stakes action, Nobody 2 is shaping up to be an adrenaline-fueled ride. Fans of the original can expect more of the same thrilling intensity, while new viewers will be introduced to a fresh mix of tension and dark comedy. The sequel opens in theaters on August 15, 2025, and promises to be a wild ride.
